Bach's G Major Prelude during Quarantine

It’s never too late to start learning the cello.

If climbing a mountain seems too great a task, start by just taking that first step. Then tell yourself you’re going to go for a short walk every day, and as the route gradually grows steeper, so will your endurance to match it.

I started my climb 12 years ago on my 25th birthday, and occasionally I will stop walking for a moment and take in the view from my current elevation, remembering that first day in the parking lot at the base of my mountain.

Most of the time, however, I keep my eyes on the path just in front of me and try to continue my climb, thankful that the summit nowhere in sight.
