Bow grip exercise for finger flexibility | Learning Cello

Here is a great exercise I learned to help build flexible fingers while holding the bow. Great for adult learners battling physical tension!

As adults we enjoy the advantage of approaching a task with an adult’s mindset; we know that patience and perseverance will pay off.

Unfortunately, most of us also have to battle the excess physical tension that results from trying something new.

Our fingers have worked for us all of our lives, but suddenly we are asking something new of them. Often as a result, we put more physical effort into a task that actually requires less physical exertion and more flexibility.
